Pool and marionette theater views
Before the liberation

Photos #11 and #12 (on the film) show men swimming in what looks like a swimming-pool. Are they POW or military camp-keepers ? One thing is sure : because of the film context we can situate it a certain time before the liberation. Indeed, after those two photos we can see POW giving a marionette show. If the liberation had already happened we can think that prisoners would have had other things in their minds. The liberation had occured at the end of april 1945. In may and june the weather can be warm enough to make baths possible in Baviera. Those photos could have been taken in the summer of 1944 or in the years before.

According to new informations this was a water reservoir used to fight against fire in the Oflag. In summer it was used as a swimming-pool by the POWs too.

On the photos #13 and #14 the polish words means :

Marionettes
"Soap bubbles" (title of the show)
Beginning at 5 p.m

The premiere of the show was held on august 14th, 1944 (Thank you to Jaroslaw Baczyk for those informations)
